About
Pumpin'! was conceived sometime in February 2005. It gambled on being my portfolio and collective, before it was decided Pumpin'! would remain a collective, separate from my portfolio. P has been hosted at Trendevous.org, which happened to belong to a very dear friend of mine, Mallory. Since then, it has moved to Mallory's late domain, la-prep.net; one of my late domains, hiscrusade.com; and, finally, to stfutrex.net (another soon-to-be-late domain). keepitpumpin.net was thought up in April 2007, and registered. Alas, a new era has been born.
The name, Pumpin'!, comes from two sources, both of them songs—and before I continue, let it be known that I'm an avid fan of songs, and will try to reference one at any given time...all bets are off, as the saying goes—"Pump Up the Jam" by Technotronic and "Wild Thing" by Tone Loc. I love techno, and Pumpin'! sounded both eclectic and childish, and all kinds of fabulous. Most would assume I'd have tired of it after five years, but I think Pumpin'! is rather unique in the sense that nobody has this atrocity for a name.
Pumpin'! is run by one person—that would be me, Tess, the ultimate in...well, Tess—and is currently running on version...fifteen. Or something. I kind of lost count back in 2005, right around the time it opened. The current layout uses two patterns by Insurrection » and xe0s », and a Twitter icon by Practika ». Anything else on this site—and this includes the crap CMS powering the site—was created by me.
On a somewhat-similar, sort-of related, OK downright different note, Pumpin'! was bought at Go Daddy » and is hosted by DreamHost »—both of which I highly recommend; both have excellent services, and to sound like a shoddy advertisement, have fast and reliable customer service. Pumpin'! hosts all of my own websites, and Michelle's » anime domains, Angelic Wish » and Sylvarant », among others. To avoid any future confusion, no I do not offer hosting of any sort; I'm a shitty commenter in a lot of non-commenting ways.
